But the biggest question during this time of change is — what new schemes will the new government introduce? Will the old ones remain? Will Lakshmir Bhandar be closed? Will the Yuva Sathi money come?

First Cabinet Meeting — West Bengal BJP Schemes 2026
Right after forming the government, 6 major decisions were made in the first cabinet meeting. This took place on May 11, 2026.
Confirmed Central Schemes — Now Active in West Bengal
The previous TMC government did not allow many central schemes to be implemented in West Bengal. The BJP government announced the launch of those schemes on its very first day.
Ayushman Bharat / PM Jan Arogya Yojana
Free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per month in hospitals. It was not active in West Bengal before — it is starting now.
PM SHRI Scheme
Central funding for the modernization of government schools.
Vishwakarma Scheme

Will the Old Schemes Continue?
Many people ask this question. I am answering based on research.
Yuva Sathi — Has been closed. It is being replaced by the ‘Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card‘.
Lakshmir Bhandar — The May 2026 payment was not made. It will be restarted under the name “Matrishakti Bharosa Card” with ₹3,000.
Swasthya Sathi — It is not yet confirmed what will happen to this alongside Ayushman Bharat.
Kanyashree — The BJP has not made any announcement to close it.
Krishak Bandhu — Will likely continue. Waiting for official confirmation.
How to Apply for New Schemes (General Guidelines)
- Wait for Official Announcements: Applications will only begin once the respective official web portals are launched.
- Prepare Your Documents: Keep your Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Domicile Certificate, and active Bank Passbook ready.
- Beware of Fake Links: Do not click on random WhatsApp forwards promising instant money or scheme approvals.
Caution — Keep These Things in Mind
Many promises are still awaiting implementation. You cannot apply until the portal is launched. Do not provide your Aadhaar or bank details anywhere without confirming on the official website.

Will the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme be closed?
The May 2026 payment for Lakshmir Bhandar was not released. However, the financial assistance is not stopping. It is being rebranded and restarted as the “Matrishakti Bharosa Card,” which promises to provide ₹3,000 per month to eligible women.
